During a gruelling match with Ramsay “Iron Man” Steele, Chambers appeared to have tweaked his knee. During a subsequent visit to the hospital, Chambers was told to rest up.
Visiting Showdown this past Wednesday, Chambers spoke of his desire to make it to NWE Wrestle Fest IV in January and how resting up now would lessen the risk of long-term injury.
But Alex Kingston had no sympathy. Interrupting Chambers, the now former NWE Champion was still unhappy at being forced to make two title defences at Redemption. (READ THE COMPLETE CONFRONTATION) The verbal exchange, in which Chambers told Kingston to stop making excuses, ended with Kingston attacking a wounded Chambers and leaving him writhing in agony.
The two are no strangers to each other. It was Kingston - with an assist from William Sanchez - who, back in June, ended Chambers' illustrious, history making reign as NWE Champion. The two battled again in July with a similar outcome under painfully familiar circumstances.
But it seems the two former NWE Champions just can't stay out of each others' paths. And with Kingston having attacked Chambers on Showdown, one has to wonder whether these two are on a collision course, set to do battle once again.
If history is anything to go by, should these two meet in the ring again, it'll be a contest for the ages!
